Paulina Czienskowski: Dem Mond geht es gut.
The author talks with Lin Hierse about her new novel – invited by Literaturhaus Neukölln.
With the birth of her child, a young woman begins to see the world differently. Words fade, as love and fantasies of loss consume her. Only now does she recognize how silent her mother and grandmother have been in life. How they failed to tell their own stories. How questions of belonging and fractures constantly seep in. With probing precision, she approaches these speechless riddles, sensually and relentlessly tracing their lives amidst the fog of their memories. For how is a child supposed to know where it’s going if it doesn’t know where it comes from? In her new novel, Paulina Czienskowski reveals, through cyclical movements, what it means to become an echo—three women, three mothers, and a new life that reveals everything, as though lined with mirror foil.
Entry is free.
