Bernie Sanders: “It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism”
Bernie Sanders’s new book, It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism, is a powerful testament to his political life's work and a militant appeal to the next generation to fundamentally challenge hyper-capitalist systems. In doing so, Sanders’s vision goes far beyond the demands of his campaign days. He shows that economic rights must be recognized as human rights in order to combat growing inequality, and he encourages his readers to create a society that provides a decent standard of living for all.
It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism will be published in German by Tropen Verlag on 14 October. The book premiere at HKW, in cooperation with the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung and the American Academy in Berlin, is one of only a few stops in Europe. (EN)

Book Launch: Solitary - A Night of Performance, Reading and, Discussions with Tyler Coburn and InYoung Yeo
Solitary is an experiment in site-specific writing produced at a wellness center in South Korea designed to resemble a prison. To make this work, artist Tyler Coburn commissioned nine contributors to spend time in ‘solitary confinement’ at the center, where they produced texts using the materials on hand. What results is a book exploring wellness, solitude, incarceration, and what it means to seek freedom through confinement. For this event, Coburn will introduce the project, artist InYoung Yeo will read from her contribution to the book, and the two will discuss its making. (EN)
Solitary is co-published by Sternberg Press and Art Sonje Center. Contributors include Jaeyeon Chung, Sunjin Kim, Hyunjeung Kim, Kyungmook Kim, Min Kyoung Lee, Woochang Lee, Russell Mason, and Jiwon Yu. The book was designed by Luke Gould and primarily translated by Minji Chun.
